To update the headers, do:

$ cd <the_kernel>
$ make ARCH=i386 headers_install
$ find usr -name .install -o -name .check -o -name ..install.cmd -o -name ..check.cmd | xargs rm -f
$ cp -a usr/include <kernel_headers>/usr
