bus: brcmstb_gisb: Add support for breakpoint interrupts
GISB breakpoint interrupts can be raised when a breakpoint has been
enabled to match a specific master and/or GISB register address. Being
able to print a message, similar to those done during target abort or
timeout greatly helps debug systems.

soc: bcm: brcmstb: biuctrl: Change RAC data line prefetching after 4 consecutive lines
Change the RACPREFDATA(x) setting to prefetch the next 256-byte line
after 4 consecutive lines have been used, instead of after 2 consecutive
lines. This does improve the synthetic memcpy benchmark by an additional
+0.5% on top of the previous change for Cortex-A72 CPUs.

memory: tegra: Remove GPU from DRM IOMMU group
Commit
63a613fdb16c ("memory: tegra: Add gr2d and gr3d to DRM IOMMU
group") added the GPU to the DRM IOMMU group, which doesn't make any
sense. This causes problems when Nouveau tries to attach to the SMMU
and causes it to fall back to using the DMA API.
Remove the GPU from the DRM groups to restore the old behaviour. The
GPU should always have its own IOMMU domain to make sure it can map
buffers into contiguous chunks (for big page support) without getting
in the way of mappings from the DRM group.

memory: samsung: exynos5422-dmc: remove unused exynos5_dmc members
The struct exynos5_dmc members bypass_rate, mx_mspll_ccore_phy,
mout_mx_mspll_ccore_phy and opp_bypass are not actually used.
Apparently there was a plan to store the OPP for the bypass mode in
opp_bypass member, but driver fails to do it and instead always sets
target voltage during bypass mode.

The driver has file-scope arrays defining fields of timing registers
(e.g. struct timing_reg timing_row) and actual values for these
registers per each OPP in state container (struct

When the optee driver is compiled into the kernel while the i2c core
is configured as a module, the i2c symbols are not available.

memory: emif: Remove bogus debugfs error handling
Callers are generally not supposed to check the return values from
debugfs functions. Debugfs functions never return NULL so this error
handling will never trigger. (Historically debugfs functions used to
return a mix of NULL and error pointers but it was eventually deemed too
complicated for something which wasn't intended to be used in normal
situations).
Delete all the error handling.

tee: convert get_user_pages() --> pin_user_pages()
This code was using get_user_pages*(), in a "Case 2" scenario
(DMA/RDMA), using the categorization from [1]. That means that it's
time to convert the get_user_pages*() + put_page() calls to
pin_user_pages*() + unpin_user_pages() calls.
Factor out a new, small release_registered_pages() function, in
order to consolidate the logic for discerning between
TEE_SHM_USER_MAPPED and TEE_SHM_KERNEL_MAPPED pages. This also
absorbs the kfree() call that is also required there.
There is some helpful background in [2]: basically, this is a small
part of fixing a long-standing disconnect between pinning pages, and
file systems' use of those pages.

memory: brcmstb_dpfe: fix array index out of bounds
We would overrun the error_text array if we hit a TIMEOUT condition,
because we were using the error code "ETIMEDOUT" (which is 110) as an
array index.
We fix the problem by correcting the array index and by providing a
function to retrieve error messages rather than accessing the array
directly. The function includes a bounds check that prevents the array
from being overrun.

drivers: optee: allow op-tee to access devices on the i2c bus
Some secure elements like NXP's SE050 sit on I2C buses. For OP-TEE to
control this type of cryptographic devices it needs coordinated access
to the bus, so collisions and RUNTIME_PM dont get in the way.
This trampoline driver allow OP-TEE to access them.

The GPMC_SET_ONE_CD_MAX macro uses return statement and variable 'cs'
coming from called scope. This is not a good practice. Also
checkpatch complained:
WARNING: Macros with flow control statements should be avoided
ERROR: Macros starting with if should be enclosed by a do - while
loop to avoid possible if/else logic defects
Since GPMC_SET_ONE_CD_MAX macro just calls one function, it can be open
coded. The difference with original code is that function will exit on
error not after every register set, but after a group of sets.

soc: bcm: brcmstb: biuctrl: Enable Read-ahead cache
Brahma-B53 and Cortex-A72 CPUs integrated on Broadcom STB SoCs feature a
read-ahead cache that performs cache line size adaptation between the
bus interface unit and the memory controller.
On 32-bit ARM kernels we have to resort to a full featured read-ahead
cache driver under arch/arm/mm/cache-b15-rac.c (CONFIG_CACHE_B15_RAC)
because there are still cache maintenance operations by set/ways/index
that cannot be transparently handled by the ARM Coherency Extension that
the read-ahead cache interfaces to.
The 64-bit ARM kernel however has long deprecated all of those, so this
is simply a one time configuration.

The 'curr_rate' is protected by local 'dmc->lock' in various places, but
not in a function exynos5_dmc_get_status(). The lock protects frequency
(and voltage) change process and the corresponding value stored in
'curr_rate'. Add the locking mechanism to protect the 'curr_rate' reading
also in the exynos5_dmc_get_status().

parisc: fix PMD pages allocation by restoring pmd_alloc_one()
Commit
1355c31eeb7e ("asm-generic: pgalloc: provide generic pmd_alloc_one()
and pmd_free_one()") converted parisc to use generic version of
pmd_alloc_one() but it missed the fact that parisc uses order-1 pages for
PMD.
Restore the original version of pmd_alloc_one() for parisc, just use
GFP_PGTABLE_KERNEL that implies __GFP_ZERO instead of GFP_KERNEL and
memset.

io_uring: short circuit -EAGAIN for blocking read attempt
One case was missed in the short IO retry handling, and that's hitting
-EAGAIN on a blocking attempt read (eg from io-wq context). This is a
problem on sockets that are marked as non-blocking when created, they
don't carry any REQ_F_NOWAIT information to help us terminate them
instead of perpetually retrying.

io_uring: sanitize double poll handling
There's a bit of confusion on the matching pairs of poll vs double poll,
depending on if the request is a pure poll (IORING_OP_POLL_ADD) or
poll driven retry.
Add io_poll_get_double() that returns the double poll waitqueue, if any,
and io_poll_get_single() that returns the original poll waitqueue. With
that, remove the argument to io_poll_remove_double().
Finally ensure that wait->private is cleared once the double poll handler
has run, so that remove knows it's already been seen.

void *__iomem address argument is a pointer to const, on some not.
Implementations of ioreadX() do not modify the memory under the address so
they can be converted to a "const" version for const-safety and
consistency among architectures.

The ioread8/16/32() and others have inconsistent interface among the
architectures: some taking address as const, some not.
It seems there is nothing really stopping all of them to take pointer to
const.
This patch (of 4):
The ioreadX() and ioreadX_rep() helpers have inconsistent interface. On

In general, strncpy() should behave like below.

But, current SH strnpy() has 2 issues.
1st is it will access to out-of-memory (= src + 10).
2nd is it needs big fixup for it, and maintenance __asm__
code is difficult.
To solve these issues, this patch simply uses generic strncpy()
instead of architecture specific one.

Since the patch [1], building the kernel using a toolchain built with
binutils 2.33.1 prevents booting a sh4 system under Qemu. Apply the patch

A page never changes its zone number. The zone number happens to be
stored in the same word as other bits which are modified, but the zone
number bits will never be modified by any other write, so it can accept
a reload of the zone bits after an intervening write and it don't need
to use READ_ONCE(). Thus, annotate this data race using
ASSERT_EXCLUSIVE_BITS() to also assert that there are no concurrent
writes to it.

mm/swap.c: annotate data races for lru_rotate_pvecs
Read to lru_add_pvec->nr could be interrupted and then write to the same
variable. The write has local interrupt disabled, but the plain reads
result in data races. However, it is unlikely the compilers could do much
damage here given that lru_add_pvec->nr is a "unsigned char" and there is
an existing compiler barrier. Thus, annotate the reads using the

Since the write is under pool->lock but the read is done as lockless.
Even though the commit
5b990546e334 ("mempool: fix and document
synchronization and memory barrier usage") introduced the smp_wmb() and
smp_rmb() pair to improve the situation, it is adequate to protect it
from data races which could lead to a logic bug, so fix it by adding
READ_ONCE() for the read.

A shattered l.nr_items could affect the shrinker behaviour due to a data
race. Fix it by adding READ_ONCE() for the read. Since the writes are
aligned and up to word-size, assume those are safe from data races to

The write is under lru_lock, but the read is done as lockless. The scan
count is used to determine how aggressively the anon and file LRU lists
should be scanned. Load tearing could generate an inefficient heuristic,
so fix it by adding READ_ONCE() for the read.

Since watermark could be compared or set to garbage due to a data race
which would change the code logic, fix it by adding a pair of READ_ONCE()
and WRITE_ONCE() in those places.
The "failcnt" counter is tolerant of some degree of inaccuracy and is only
used to report stats, a data race will not be harmful, thus mark it as an
intentional data race using the data_race() macro.

The writes are under si->lock but the reads are not. For si.highest_bit
and si.swap_map[offset], data race could trigger logic bugs, so fix them
by having WRITE_ONCE() for the writes and READ_ONCE() for the reads
except those isolated reads where they compare against zero which a data
race would cause no harm. Thus, annotate them as intentional data races
using the data_race() macro.
For si.flags, the readers are only interested in a single bit where a
data race there would cause no issue there.

ra.mmap_miss is used to contribute the readahead decisions, a data race
could be undesirable. Both the read and write is only under non-exclusive
mmap_sem, two concurrent writers could even underflow the counter. Fix
the underflow by writing to a local variable before committing a final
store to ra.mmap_miss given a small inaccuracy of the counter should be
acceptable.

all arch: remove system call sys_sysctl
Since commit
61a47c1ad3a4dc ("sysctl: Remove the sysctl system call"),
sys_sysctl is actually unavailable: any input can only return an error.
We have been warning about people using the sysctl system call for years
and believe there are no more users. Even if there are users of this
interface if they have not complained or fixed their code by now they
probably are not going to, so there is no point in warning them any
longer.
So completely remove sys_sysctl on all architectures.
