ip_gre: remove CRC flag from dev features in gre_gso_segment

This patch is to let it always do CRC checksum in sctp_gso_segment()
by removing CRC flag from the dev features in gre_gso_segment() for
SCTP over GRE, just as it does in Commit 527beb8ef9c0 ("udp: support
sctp over udp in skb_udp_tunnel_segment") for SCTP over UDP.

It could set csum/csum_start in GSO CB properly in sctp_gso_segment()
after that commit, so it would do checksum with gso_make_checksum()
in gre_gso_segment(), and Commit 622e32b7d4a6 ("net: gre: recompute
gre csum for sctp over gre tunnels") can be reverted now.

Note that when need_csum is false, we can still leave CRC checksum
of SCTP to HW by not clearing this CRC flag if it's supported, as
Jakub and Alex noticed.

v1->v2:
  - improve the changelog.
  - fix "rev xmas tree" in varibles declaration.
v2->v3:
  - remove CRC flag from dev features only when need_csum is true.

nexthop: More fine-grained policies for netlink message validation

There is currently one policy that covers all attributes for next hop
object management. Actual validation is then done in code, which makes it
unobvious which attributes are acceptable when, and indeed that everything
is rejected as necessary.

In this series, split rtm_nh_policy to several policies that cover various
aspects of the next hop object configuration, and instead of open-coding
the validation, defer to nlmsg_parse(). This should make extending the next
hop code simpler as well, which will be relevant in near future for
resilient hashing implementation.

This was tested by running tools/testing/selftests/net/fib_nexthops.sh.
Additionally iproute2 was tweaked to issue "nexthop list id" as an
RTM_GETNEXTHOP dump request, instead of a straight get to test that
unexpected attributes are indeed rejected.

Alban Bedel [Tue, 19 Jan 2021 14:06:38 +0000 (15:06 +0100)]
net: mscc: ocelot: Fix multicast to the CPU port

Multicast entries in the MAC table use the high bits of the MAC
address to encode the ports that should get the packets. But this port
mask does not work for the CPU port, to receive these packets on the
CPU port the MAC_CPU_COPY flag must be set.

Because of this IPv6 was effectively not working because neighbor
solicitations were never received. This was not apparent before commit
9403c158 (net: mscc: ocelot: support IPv4, IPv6 and plain Ethernet mdb
entries) as the IPv6 entries were broken so all incoming IPv6
multicast was then treated as unknown and flooded on all ports.

To fix this problem rework the ocelot_mact_learn() to set the
MAC_CPU_COPY flag when a multicast entry that target the CPU port is
added. For this we have to read back the ports endcoded in the pseudo
MAC address by the caller. It is not a very nice design but that avoid
changing the callers and should make backporting easier.

3 years agotcp: Fix potential use-after-free due to double kfree()
Kuniyuki Iwashima [Mon, 18 Jan 2021 05:59:20 +0000 (14:59 +0900)]
tcp: Fix potential use-after-free due to double kfree()

Receiving ACK with a valid SYN cookie, cookie_v4_check() allocates struct
request_sock and then can allocate inet_rsk(req)->ireq_opt. After that,
tcp_v4_syn_recv_sock() allocates struct sock and copies ireq_opt to
inet_sk(sk)->inet_opt. Normally, tcp_v4_syn_recv_sock() inserts the full
socket into ehash and sets NULL to ireq_opt. Otherwise,
tcp_v4_syn_recv_sock() has to reset inet_opt by NULL and free the full
socket.

The commit 01770a1661657 ("tcp: fix race condition when creating child
sockets from syncookies") added a new path, in which more than one cores
create full sockets for the same SYN cookie. Currently, the core which
loses the race frees the full socket without resetting inet_opt, resulting
in that both sock_put() and reqsk_put() call kfree() for the same memory:

  sock_put
    sk_free
      __sk_free
        sk_destruct
          __sk_destruct
            sk->sk_destruct/inet_sock_destruct
              kfree(rcu_dereference_protected(inet->inet_opt, 1));

  reqsk_put
    reqsk_free
      __reqsk_free
        req->rsk_ops->destructor/tcp_v4_reqsk_destructor
          kfree(rcu_dereference_protected(inet_rsk(req)->ireq_opt, 1));

Calling kmalloc() between the double kfree() can lead to use-after-free, so
this patch fixes it by setting NULL to inet_opt before sock_put().

As a side note, this kind of issue does not happen for IPv6. This is
because tcp_v6_syn_recv_sock() clones both ipv6_opt and pktopts which
correspond to ireq_opt in IPv4.

Jarod Wilson [Tue, 19 Jan 2021 01:09:27 +0000 (20:09 -0500)]
bonding: add a vlan+srcmac tx hashing option

This comes from an end-user request, where they're running multiple VMs on
hosts with bonded interfaces connected to some interest switch topologies,
where 802.3ad isn't an option. They're currently running a proprietary
solution that effectively achieves load-balancing of VMs and bandwidth
utilization improvements with a similar form of transmission algorithm.

Basically, each VM has it's own vlan, so it always sends its traffic out
the same interface, unless that interface fails. Traffic gets split
between the interfaces, maintaining a consistent path, with failover still
available if an interface goes down.

Unlike bond_eth_hash(), this hash function is using the full source MAC
address instead of just the last byte, as there are so few components to
the hash, and in the no-vlan case, we would be returning just the last
byte of the source MAC as the hash value. It's entirely possible to have
two NICs in a bond with the same last byte of their MAC, but not the same
MAC, so this adjustment should guarantee distinct hashes in all cases.

This has been rudimetarily tested to provide similar results to the
proprietary solution it is aiming to replace. A patch for iproute2 is also
posted, to properly support the new mode there as well.

net: fix GSO for SG-enabled devices

The commit dbd50f238dec ("net: move the hsize check to the else
block in skb_segment") introduced a data corruption for devices
supporting scatter-gather.

The problem boils down to signed/unsigned comparison given
unexpected results: if signed 'hsize' is negative, it will be
considered greater than a positive 'len', which is unsigned.

This commit addresses resorting to the old checks order, so that
'hsize' never has a negative value when compared with 'len'.

Eric Dumazet [Tue, 19 Jan 2021 16:49:00 +0000 (08:49 -0800)]
tcp: do not mess with cloned skbs in tcp_add_backlog()

Heiner Kallweit reported that some skbs were sent with
the following invalid GSO properties :
- gso_size > 0
- gso_type == 0

This was triggerring a WARN_ON_ONCE() in rtl8169_tso_csum_v2.

Juerg Haefliger was able to reproduce a similar issue using
a lan78xx NIC and a workload mixing TCP incoming traffic
and forwarded packets.

The problem is that tcp_add_backlog() is writing
over gso_segs and gso_size even if the incoming packet will not
be coalesced to the backlog tail packet.

While skb_try_coalesce() would bail out if tail packet is cloned,
this overwriting would lead to corruptions of other packets
cooked by lan78xx, sharing a common super-packet.

The strategy used by lan78xx is to use a big skb, and split
it into all received packets using skb_clone() to avoid copies.
The drawback of this strategy is that all the small skb share a common
struct skb_shared_info.

This patch rewrites TCP gso_size/gso_segs handling to only
happen on the tail skb, since skb_try_coalesce() made sure
it was not cloned.

This series introduces basic support for recently introduced TI K3 AM642x SoC [1]
which contains 3 port (2 external ports) CPSW3g module. The CPSW3g integrated
in MAIN domain and can be configured in multi port or switch modes.
In this series only multi port mode is enabled. The initial version of switchdev
support was introduced by Vignesh Raghavendra [2] and work is in progress.

The overall functionality and DT bindings are similar to other K3 CPSWxg
versions, so DT binding changes are minimal and driver is mostly re-used for
TI K3 AM642x CPSW3g.

The main difference is that TI K3 AM642x SoC is not fully DMA coherent and
instead DMA coherency is supported per DMA channel.

ipv4: Ensure ECN bits don't influence source address validation

Functions that end up calling fib_table_lookup() should clear the ECN
bits from the TOS, otherwise ECT(0) and ECT(1) packets can be treated
differently.

Most functions already clear the ECN bits, but there are a few cases
where this is not done. This series only fixes the ones related to
source address validation.

netfilter: rpfilter: mask ecn bits before fib lookup

RT_TOS() only masks one of the two ECN bits. Therefore rpfilter_mt()
treats Not-ECT or ECT(1) packets in a different way than those with
ECT(0) or CE.

Reproducer:

  Create two netns, connected with a veth:
  $ ip netns add ns0

  In ns1, only packets with TOS 4 can be routed to ns0:
  $ ip -netns ns1 route add 192.0.2.10/32 tos 4 dev veth10

  Ping from ns0 to ns1 works regardless of the ECN bits, as long as TOS
  is 4:
  $ ip netns exec ns0 ping -Q 4 192.0.2.11   # TOS 4, Not-ECT

  $ ip netns exec ns0 ping -Q 7 192.0.2.11   # TOS 4, CE
    ... 0% packet loss ...

  Now use iptable's rpfilter module in ns1:
  $ ip netns exec ns1 iptables-legacy -t raw -A PREROUTING -m rpfilter --invert -j DROP

  Not-ECT and ECT(1) packets still pass:

  $ ip netns exec ns0 ping -Q 5 192.0.2.11   # TOS 4, ECT(1)
    ... 0% packet loss ...

  But ECT(0) and ECN packets are dropped:
  $ ip netns exec ns0 ping -Q 6 192.0.2.11   # TOS 4, ECT(0)
    ... 100% packet loss ...
  $ ip netns exec ns0 ping -Q 7 192.0.2.11   # TOS 4, CE
    ... 100% packet loss ...

After this patch, rpfilter doesn't drop ECT(0) and CE packets anymore.

3 years agoudp: mask TOS bits in udp_v4_early_demux()
Guillaume Nault [Sat, 16 Jan 2021 10:44:22 +0000 (11:44 +0100)]
udp: mask TOS bits in udp_v4_early_demux()

udp_v4_early_demux() is the only function that calls
ip_mc_validate_source() with a TOS that hasn't been masked with
IPTOS_RT_MASK.

This results in different behaviours for incoming multicast UDPv4
packets, depending on if ip_mc_validate_source() is called from the
early-demux path (udp_v4_early_demux) or from the regular input path
(ip_route_input_noref).

ECN would normally not be used with UDP multicast packets, so the
practical consequences should be limited on that side. However,
IPTOS_RT_MASK is used to also masks the TOS' high order bits, to align
with the non-early-demux path behaviour.

Reproducer:

  Setup two netns, connected with veth:
  $ ip netns add ns0
  $ ip netns add ns1
  $ ip -netns ns0 link set dev lo up

  $ ip -netns ns0 address add 192.0.2.10 peer 192.0.2.11/32 dev veth01
  $ ip -netns ns1 address add 192.0.2.11 peer 192.0.2.10/32 dev veth10

  In ns0, add route to multicast address 224.0.2.0/24 using source
  address 198.51.100.10:
  $ ip -netns ns0 address add 198.51.100.10/32 dev lo
  $ ip -netns ns0 route add 224.0.2.0/24 dev veth01 src 198.51.100.10

  In ns1, define route to 198.51.100.10, only for packets with TOS 4:
  $ ip -netns ns1 route add 198.51.100.10/32 tos 4 dev veth10

  Also activate rp_filter in ns1, so that incoming packets not matching
  the above route get dropped:
  $ ip netns exec ns1 sysctl -wq net.ipv4.conf.veth10.rp_filter=1

  Now try to receive packets on 224.0.2.11:
  $ ip netns exec ns1 socat UDP-RECVFROM:1111,ip-add-membership=224.0.2.11:veth10,ignoreeof -

  In ns0, send packet to 224.0.2.11 with TOS 4 and ECT(0) (that is,
  tos 6 for socat):
  $ echo test0 | ip netns exec ns0 socat - UDP-DATAGRAM:224.0.2.11:1111,bind=:1111,tos=6

  The "test0" message is properly received by socat in ns1, because
  early-demux has no cached dst to use, so source address validation
  is done by ip_route_input_mc(), which receives a TOS that has the
  ECN bits masked.

  Now send another packet to 224.0.2.11, still with TOS 4 and ECT(0):
  $ echo test1 | ip netns exec ns0 socat - UDP-DATAGRAM:224.0.2.11:1111,bind=:1111,tos=6

  The "test1" message isn't received by socat in ns1, because, now,
  early-demux has a cached dst to use and calls ip_mc_validate_source()
  immediately, without masking the ECN bits.

The number of queues can change by other means, rather than ethtool. For
example, attaching an mqprio qdisc with num_tc > 1 leads to creating
multiple sets of TX queues, which may be then destroyed when mqprio is
deleted. If an AF_XDP socket is created while mqprio is active,
dev->_tx[queue_id].pool will be filled, but then real_num_tx_queues may
decrease with deletion of mqprio, which will mean that the pool won't be
NULLed, and a further increase of the number of TX queues may expose a

To avoid any potential misbehavior, this commit clears pool for RX and

sh_eth: Fix reboot crash

This patch fixes a regression v5.11-rc1, where rebooting while a sh_eth
device is not opened will cause a crash.

Changes compared to v1:
  - Export mdiobb_{read,write}(),
  - Call mdiobb_{read,write}() now they are exported,
  - Use mii_bus.parent to avoid bb_info.dev copy,
  - Drop RFC state.

Alternatively, mdio-bitbang could provide Runtime PM-aware wrappers
itself, and use them either manually (through a new parameter to
alloc_mdio_bitbang(), or a new alloc_mdio_bitbang_*() function), or
automatically (e.g. if pm_runtime_enabled() returns true).  Note that
the latter requires a "struct device *" parameter to operate on.
Currently there are only two drivers that call alloc_mdio_bitbang() and
use Runtime PM: the Renesas sh_eth and ravb drivers.  This series fixes
the former, while the latter is not affected (it keeps the device
powered all the time between driver probe and driver unbind, and
changing that seems to be non-trivial).

As of commit e2f016cf775129c0 ("net: phy: add a shutdown procedure"),
system reboot calls phy_disable_interrupts() during shutdown.  As this
happens unconditionally, the PHY registers may be accessed while the
device is suspended, causing undefined behavior, which may crash the
system.

Fix this by wrapping the PHY bitbang accessors in the sh_eth driver by
wrappers that take care of Runtime PM, to resume the device when needed.

Jakub Kicinski [Tue, 19 Jan 2021 04:48:42 +0000 (20:48 -0800)]
Merge branch 'tls-device-offload-for-bond'

Tariq Toukan says:

====================
TLS device offload for Bond

This series opens TX and RX TLS device offload for bond interfaces.
This allows bond interfaces to benefit from capable lower devices.

We add a new ndo_sk_get_lower_dev() to be used to get the lower dev that
corresponds to a given socket.
The TLS module uses it to interact directly with the lowest device in
chain, and invoke the control operations in tlsdev_ops. This means that the
bond interface doesn't have his own struct tlsdev_ops instance and
derived logic/callbacks.

To keep simple track of the HW and SW TLS contexts, we bind each socket to
a specific lower device for the socket's whole lifetime. This is logically
valid (and similar to the SW kTLS behavior) in the following bond configuration,
so we restrict the offload support to it:

((mode == balance-xor) or (mode == 802.3ad))
and xmit_hash_policy == layer3+4.

In this design, TLS TX/RX offload feature flags of the bond device are
independent from the lower devices. They reflect the current features state,
but are not directly controllable.
This is because the bond driver is bypassed by the call to
ndo_sk_get_lower_dev(), without him knowing who the caller is.
The bond TLS feature flags are set/cleared only according to the configuration
of the mode and xmit_hash_policy.

Bypass is true only for the control flow. Packets in fast path still go through
the bond logic.

The design here differs from the xfrm/ipsec offload, where the bond driver
has his own copy of struct xfrmdev_ops and callbacks.

net/bonding: Implement TLS TX device offload

Implement TLS TX device offload for bonding interfaces.
This allows kTLS sockets running on a bond to benefit from the

To allow a simple and fast maintenance of the TLS context in SW and

To achieve a behavior similar to SW kTLS, we support only balance-xor
and 802.3ad modes, with xmit_hash_policy=layer3+4. This is enforced
in bond_sk_check(), done in a previous patch.

For the above configuration, the SW implementation keeps picking the
same exact lower dev for all the socket's SKBs. The device offload
behaves similarly, making the decision once at the connection creation.

Per socket, the TLS module should work directly with the lowest netdev
in chain, to call the tls_dev_ops operations.

As the bond interface is being bypassed by the TLS module, interacting

3 years agonet_sched: fix RTNL deadlock again caused by request_module()
Cong Wang [Sun, 17 Jan 2021 00:56:57 +0000 (16:56 -0800)]
net_sched: fix RTNL deadlock again caused by request_module()

tcf_action_init_1() loads tc action modules automatically with
request_module() after parsing the tc action names, and it drops RTNL
lock and re-holds it before and after request_module(). This causes a
lot of troubles, as discovered by syzbot, because we can be in the
middle of batch initializations when we create an array of tc actions.

One of the problem is deadlock:

CPU 0 CPU 1
rtnl_lock();
for (...) {
  tcf_action_init_1();
    -> rtnl_unlock();
    -> request_module();
rtnl_lock();
for (...) {
  tcf_action_init_1();
    -> tcf_idr_check_alloc();
   // Insert one action into idr,
   // but it is not committed until
   // tcf_idr_insert_many(), then drop
   // the RTNL lock in the _next_
   // iteration
   -> rtnl_unlock();
    -> rtnl_lock();
    -> a_o->init();
      -> tcf_idr_check_alloc();
      // Now waiting for the same index
      // to be committed
    -> request_module();
    -> rtnl_lock()
    // Now waiting for RTNL lock
}
rtnl_unlock();
}
rtnl_unlock();

This is not easy to solve, we can move the request_module() before
this loop and pre-load all the modules we need for this netlink
message and then do the rest initializations. So the loop breaks down
to two now:

        for (i = 1; i <= TCA_ACT_MAX_PRIO && tb[i]; i++) {
                struct tc_action_ops *a_o;

                a_o = tc_action_load_ops(name, tb[i]...);
                ops[i - 1] = a_o;
        }

        for (i = 1; i <= TCA_ACT_MAX_PRIO && tb[i]; i++) {
                act = tcf_action_init_1(ops[i - 1]...);
        }

Although this looks serious, it only has been reported by syzbot, so it
seems hard to trigger this by humans. And given the size of this patch,
I'd suggest to make it to net-next and not to backport to stable.

This patch has been tested by syzbot and tested with tdc.py by me.

3 years agotcp: fix TCP_USER_TIMEOUT with zero window
Enke Chen [Fri, 15 Jan 2021 22:30:58 +0000 (14:30 -0800)]
tcp: fix TCP_USER_TIMEOUT with zero window

The TCP session does not terminate with TCP_USER_TIMEOUT when data
remain untransmitted due to zero window.

The number of unanswered zero-window probes (tcp_probes_out) is
reset to zero with incoming acks irrespective of the window size,
as described in tcp_probe_timer():

    RFC 1122 4.2.2.17 requires the sender to stay open indefinitely
    as long as the receiver continues to respond probes. We support
    this by default and reset icsk_probes_out with incoming ACKs.

This counter, however, is the wrong one to be used in calculating the
duration that the window remains closed and data remain untransmitted.
Thanks to Jonathan Maxwell <jmaxwell37@gmail.com> for diagnosing the
actual issue.

In this patch a new timestamp is introduced for the socket in order to
track the elapsed time for the zero-window probes that have not been
answered with any non-zero window ack.

ipv6: create multicast route with RTPROT_KERNEL

The ff00::/8 multicast route is created without specifying the fc_protocol
field, so the default RTPROT_BOOT value is used:

  $ ip -6 -d route

As the documentation says, this value identifies routes installed during
boot, but the route is created when interface is set up.
Change the value to RTPROT_KERNEL which is a better value.
