net: dsa: mv88e6xxx: egress floods all DSA ports
The mv88e6xxx driver currently assumes a single CPU port in the fabric
and thus floods frames with unknown DA on a single DSA port, the one
that is one hop closer to the CPU port.
With multiple CPU ports in mind, this isn't true anymore because CPU
ports could be found behind both DSA ports of a device in-between
others.
For example in a A <-> B <-> C fabric, both A and C having CPU ports,
device B will have to flood such frame to its two DSA ports.
This patch considers both CPU and DSA ports of a device as upstream
ports, where to flood frames with unknown DA addresses.

net: sched: sch_api: rearrange init handling
This patch fixes the following checkpatch error:
ERROR: do not use assignment in if condition
by rearranging the if condition to execute init callback only if init
callback exists. The whole setup afterwards is called in any case,
doesn't matter if init callback is set or not. This patch has the same
behaviour as before, just without assign err variable in if condition.
It also makes the code easier to read.

preserved. Dump levels greater than 0 are implemented by this patchset and
optionally supported by firmware providing a _abi_dump_spec rtsym. This
rtsym provides a specification, in TLV format, of the information to be
dumped from the NFP at each supported dump level.
Dumps are also structured using a TLVs. They consist a prolog and the data
described int he corresponding dump.

- The spec defines CSR address ranges for indirect ME CSRs. For Each TLV
chunk in the spec, dump a chunk that includes the spec and the data
over the defined address range.
- Each indirect CSR has 8 contexts. To read one context, first write the
context to a specific derived address, read it back, and then read the
register value.
- For each address, read and dump all 8 contexts in this manner.

"set_dump", "get_dump_flags" and "get_dump_data", i.e. the ethtool
-W/w mechanism.
- Skeleton functions for debugdump operations provided.
- An integer "dump level" can be specified, this is stored between
ethtool invocations. Dump level 0 is still the "arm.diag" resource for
backward compatibility. Other dump levels each define a set of state
information to include in the dump, driven by a spec from FW.

Both Eric and Paolo noticed the rcu_barrier() we use in
tcf_block_put_ext() could be a performance bottleneck when
we have a lot of tc classes.
Paolo provided the following to demonstrate the issue:

The rcu_barrier() there is to ensure we free the block after all chains
are gone, that is, to queue tcf_block_put_final() at the tail of workqueue.
We can achieve this ordering requirement by refcnt'ing tcf block instead,
that is, the tcf block is freed only when the last chain in this block is
gone. This also simplifies the code.
Paolo reported after this patch we get:

This patch series adds optional PHY reset support to phylib.
The first two patches are destined for David's net-next tree. They add
core PHY reset code, and update a driver that currently uses its own
reset code.
The last two patches are destined for Simon's renesas tree. They add
properties to describe the EthernetAVB PHY reset topology to the common
Salvator-X/XS and ULCB DTS files, which solves two issues:
1. On Salvator-XS, the enable pin of the regulator providing PHY power
is connected to PRESETn, and PSCI powers down the SoC during system
suspend. Hence a PHY reset is needed to restore network
functionality after system resume.
2. Linux should not rely on the boot loader having reset the PHY, but
should reset the PHY during driver probe.
Changes compared to v3:
- Remove Florian's Acked-by,
- Add missing #include <linux/gpio/consumer.h>,
- Re-add the gpiod check, as the dummy gpiod_set_value() for !GPIOLIB
does not ignore NULL, and calls WARN_ON(1),
- Do not reassert the reset signal if {mdio,phy}_probe() or
phy_device_register() succeeded, as that may destroy initial setup,
- Do not deassert the reset signal in {mdio,phy}_remove(), as it
should already be deasserted,

phylib: Add device reset GPIO support
The PHY devices sometimes do have their reset signal (maybe even power
supply?) tied to some GPIO and sometimes it also does happen that a boot
loader does not leave it deasserted. So far this issue has been attacked
from (as I believe) a wrong angle: by teaching the MAC driver to manipulate
the GPIO in question; that solution, when applied to the device trees, led
to adding the PHY reset GPIO properties to the MAC device node, with one
exception: Cadence MACB driver which could handle the "reset-gpios" prop
in a PHY device subnode. I believe that the correct approach is to teach
the 'phylib' to get the MDIO device reset GPIO from the device tree node
corresponding to this device -- which this patch is doing...
Note that I had to modify the AT803x PHY driver as it would stop working
otherwise -- it made use of the reset GPIO for its own purposes...

flow_dissector: dissect tunnel info outside __skb_flow_dissect()
Move dissection of tunnel info to outside of the main flow dissection
function, __skb_flow_dissect(). The sole user of this feature, the flower
classifier, is updated to call tunnel info dissection directly, using
skb_flow_dissect_tunnel_info().
This results in a slightly less complex implementation of
__skb_flow_dissect(), in particular removing logic from that call path
which is not used by the majority of users. The expense of this is borne by
the flower classifier which now has to make an extra call for tunnel info
dissection.
This patch should not result in any behavioural change.

some time later. Made Miscellaneous interrupt handler more
generic to handle all sources including reset interrupt source.
2. New reset service task has been introduced to service the
reset handling.
3. Introduces new reset service task for honoring software reset
requests like from network stack related to timeout and serving
the pending reset request(to reset the driver and associated
clients).

net: hns3: Refactors the requested reset & pending reset handling code
In exisiting code, the way to detect if driver/client reset should
be executed or if hardware should be be soft resetted was overly
complex.
Existing code use to read the interrupt status register from task
context to figure out if the interrupt source event was reset and
then use clear the interrupt source for reset while waiting for the
hardware to finish the reset. This behaviour again was confusing
and overly complex in terms of the flow.
This patch simplifies the handling of the requested reset and the
pending reset(i.e. reset which have already been asserted by the
software and hardware has acknowledged back to driver that it is
processing the hardware reset through interrupt)

net: hns3: Refactor of the reset interrupt handling logic
The reset interrupt event shares common miscellaneous interrupt
Vector 0. In the existing reset interrupt handling we disable
the Vector 0 interrupt in misc interrupt handler and re-enable
them later in context to common service task.
This also means other event sources like mailbox would also be
deferred or if the interrupt event was due to mailbox(which shall
be supported for VF soon), it could delay the reset handling.
This patch reorganizes the reset interrupt handling logic and
makes it more fair to other events.

- Add kerneldoc documentation for phylink and sfp upstream facing APIs
and link it in to the networking documentation.
- Resolve a sparse warning in sfp-bus.c
- Convert phylink/sfp to use fwnode rather than DT so that other firmware
systems can take advantage of this - I have received a request for it
to be usable with ACPI. The exception to this is our interactions with
phylib, as phylib itself does not yet support fwnode.

phylink: merge SGMII and 802.3z handling
The code handling SGMII and 802.3z is essentially the same, except that
we assume 802.3z has no PHY. Re-organise the code such that these cases
are merged, and exclude 802.3z mode from having a PHY attached. This
results in the same link handling behaviour as before.

arch/tile: mark as orphaned
The chip family of TILEPro and TILE-Gx was developed by Tilera, which
was eventually acquired by Mellanox. The tile architecture was added to
the kernel in 2010 and first appeared in 2.6.36.
Now at Mellanox we are developing new chips based on the ARM64
architecture; our last TILE-Gx chip (the Gx72) was released in 2013, and
our customers using tile architecture products are not, as far as we
know, looking to upgrade to newer kernel releases. In the absence of
someone in the community stepping up to take over maintainership, this
commit marks the architecture as orphaned.

2) there is a distinct lack of memory barriers, so we can easily
observe the decrement while the msg_handler is still in progress.
3) waiting with a schedule()/yield() loop is complete crap and subject
life-locks, imagine doing that rtnl_unregister_all() from a RT task.
In ancient times rtnetlink exposed a statically-sized table with
preset doit/dumpit handlers to be called for a protocol/type pair.
Later the rtnl_register interface was added and the table was allocated
on demand. Eventually these were also used by modules.
Problem is that nothing prevents module unload while a netlink dump
is in progress. netlink dumps can be span multiple recv calls and
netlink core saves the to-be-repeated dumper address for later invocation.
To prevent rmmod the netlink core expects callers to pass in the owning
module so a reference can be taken.
So far rtnetlink wasn't doing this, add new interface to pass THIS_MODULE.
Moreover, when converting parts of the rtnetlink handling to rcu this code
gained way too many READ_ONCE spots, remove them and the extra refcounting.
Take a module reference when running dumpit and doit callbacks
and never alter content of rtnl_link structures after they have been
published via rcu_assign_pointer.

The passed module struct is used to prevent module unload while

net: rtnetlink: use rcu to free rtnl message handlers
rtnetlink is littered with READ_ONCE() because we can have read accesses
while another cpu can write to the structure we're reading by
(un)registering doit or dumpit handlers.
This patch changes this so that (un)registering cpu allocates a new
structure and then publishes it via rcu_assign_pointer, i.e. once
another cpu can see such pointer no modifications will occur anymore.

net: phy: core: don't disable device interrupts in phy_change
If state is not PHY_HALTED I see no need to temporarily disable
interrupts on the device. As long as the current interrupt isn't acked
on the device no new interrupt can happen anyway.
In addition remove a unneeded enabling of interrupts in the state
machine when handling state PHY_CHANGELINK.
Tested on a Odroid-C2 with RTL8211F phy in interrupt mode.

net: phy: core: remove now uneeded disabling of interrupts
After commits
c974bdbc3e "net: phy: Use threaded IRQ, to allow IRQ from
sleeping devices" and
664fcf123a30 "net: phy: Threaded interrupts allow
some simplification" all relevant code pieces run in process context
anyway and I don't think we need the disabling of interrupts any longer.
Interestingly enough, latter commit already removed the comment
explaining why interrupts need to be temporarily disabled.
On my system phy interrupt mode works fine with this patch.
However I may miss something, especially in the context of shared phy
interrupts, therefore I'd appreciate if more people could test this.

James Morris reported kernel stack corruption bug [1] while
running the SELinux testsuite, and bisected to a recent
commit
bffa72cf7f9d ("net: sk_buff rbnode reorg")
We believe this commit is fine, but exposes an older bug.
SELinux code runs from tcp_filter() and might send an ICMP,
expecting IP options to be found in skb->cb[] using regular IPCB placement.
We need to defer TCP mangling of skb->cb[] after tcp_filter() calls.
This patch adds tcp_v4_fill_cb()/tcp_v4_restore_cb() in a very
similar way we added them for IPv6.

inet: Add a 2nd listener hashtable (port+addr)
The current listener hashtable is hashed by port only.
When a process is listening at many IP addresses with the same port (e.g.
[IP1]:443, [IP2]:443... [IPN]:443), the inet[6]_lookup_listener()
performance is degraded to a link list. It is prone to syn attack.
UDP had a similar issue and a second hashtable was added to resolve it.
This patch adds a second hashtable for the listener's sockets.
The second hashtable is hashed by port and address.
It cannot reuse the existing skc_portaddr_node which is shared
with skc_bind_node. TCP listener needs to use skc_bind_node.
Instead, this patch adds a hlist_node 'icsk_listen_portaddr_node' to
the inet_connection_sock which the listener (like TCP) also belongs to.
The new portaddr hashtable may need two lookup (First by IP:PORT.
Second by INADDR_ANY:PORT if the IP:PORT is a not found). Hence,
it implements a similar cut off as UDP such that it will only consult the
new portaddr hashtable if the current port-only hashtable has >10
sk in the link-list.
lhash2 and lhash2_mask are added to 'struct inet_hashinfo'. I take
this chance to plug a 4 bytes hole. It is done by first moving
the existing bind_bucket_cachep up and then add the new
(int lhash2_mask, *lhash2) after the existing bhash_size.

to net/ip[v6].h. The function name is renamed to

It counts how many sk is hashed to a bucket. It will be

vmbus: make hv_get_ringbuffer_availbytes local
The last use of hv_get_ringbuffer_availbytes in drivers is now
gone. Only used by the debug info routine so make it static. Also, add

hv_netvsc: optimize initialization of RNDIS header
The memset of the whole maximum possible RNDIS header is unnecessary.
For the main part of the header use a structure assignment.
No need to memset the whole per packet info. Instead rely on caller to
set what it wants. Also get rid of cast to void and signed/unsigned
conversion. Now return pointer to per packet data (rather than the
header) which simplifies use by code setting up the packet data.

hv_netvsc: use reciprocal divide to speed up percent calculation
Every packet sent checks the available ring space. The calculation
can be sped up by using reciprocal divide which is multiplication.
Since ring_size can only be configured by module parameter, so it doesn't
have to be passed around everywhere. Also it should be unsigned
since it is number of pages.

rxrpc: Use correct netns source in rxrpc_release_sock()
In rxrpc_release_sock() there may be no rx->local value to access, so we
can't unconditionally follow it to the rxrpc network namespace information
to poke the connection reapers.
Instead, use the socket's namespace pointer to find the namespace.
This unfixed code causes the following static checker warning:
net/rxrpc/af_rxrpc.c:898 rxrpc_release_sock()
error: we previously assumed 'rx->local' could be null (see line 887)

stmmac: reset last TSO segment size after device open
The mss variable tracks the last max segment size sent to the TSO
engine. We do not update the hardware as long as we receive skb:s with
the same value in gso_size.
During a network device down/up cycle (mapped to stmmac_release() and
stmmac_open() callbacks) we issue a reset to the hardware and it
forgets the setting for mss. However we did not zero out our mss
variable so the next transmission of a gso packet happens with an
undefined hardware setting.
This triggers a hang in the TSO engine and eventuelly the netdev
watchdog will bark.

net: phy: realtek: add utility functions to read/write page addresses
Realtek PHYs implement the concept of so-called "extension pages". The
reason for this is probably because these PHYs expose more registers
than available in the standard address range.
After all read/write operations on such a page are done the driver
should switch back to page 0 where the standard MII registers (such as
MII_BMCR) are available.
When referring to such a register the datasheets of RTL8211E and
RTL8211F always specify:
- the page / "ext. page" which has to be written to RTL821x_PAGE_SELECT
- an address (sometimes also called reg)
These new utility functions make the existing code easier to read since
it removes some duplication (switching back to page 0 is done within the
new helpers for example).
No functional changes are intended.

s390/qeth: build max size GSO skbs on L2 devices
The current GSO skb size limit was copy&pasted over from the L3 path,
where it is needed due to a TSO limitation.
As L2 devices don't offer TSO support (and thus all GSO skbs are
segmented before they reach the driver), there's no reason to restrict
the stack in how large it may build the GSO skbs.

s390/qeth: fix GSO throughput regression
Using GSO with small MTUs currently results in a substantial throughput
regression - which is caused by how qeth needs to map non-linear skbs
into its IO buffer elements:
compared to a linear skb, each GSO-segmented skb effectively consumes
twice as many buffer elements (ie two instead of one) due to the
additional header-only part. This causes the Output Queue to be
congested with low-utilized IO buffers.
Fix this as follows:
If the MSS is low enough so that a non-SG GSO segmentation produces
order-0 skbs (currently ~3500 byte), opt out from NETIF_F_SG. This is
where we anticipate the biggest savings, since an SG-enabled
GSO segmentation produces skbs that always consume at least two
buffer elements.
Larger MSS values continue to get a SG-enabled GSO segmentation, since
1) the relative overhead of the additional header-only buffer element
becomes less noticeable, and
2) the linearization overhead increases.
With the throughput regression fixed, re-enable NETIF_F_SG by default to
reap the significant CPU savings of GSO.
