sparc: don't use module_init in non-modular pci.c code
The pci.o is built for SPARC64_PCI -- which is bool, and hence
this code is either present or absent. It will never be modular,
so using module_init as an alias for __initcall can be somewhat
misleading.
Fix this up now, so that we can relocate module_init from
init.h into module.h in the future. If we don't do this, we'd
have to add module.h to obviously non-modular code, and that
would be a worse thing.
Note that direct use of __initcall is discouraged, vs. one
of the priority categorized subgroups. As __initcall gets
mapped onto device_initcall, our use of device_initcall
directly in this change means that the runtime impact is
zero -- it will remain at level 6 in initcall ordering.

powerpc: Make sure "cache" directory is removed when offlining cpu
The code in remove_cache_dir() is supposed to remove the "cache"
subdirectory from the sysfs directory for a CPU when that CPU is
being offlined. It tries to do this by calling kobject_put() on
the kobject for the subdirectory. However, the subdirectory only
gets removed once the last reference goes away, and the reference
being put here may well not be the last reference. That means
that the "cache" subdirectory may still exist when the offlining
operation has finished. If the same CPU subsequently gets onlined,
the code tries to add a new "cache" subdirectory. If the old
subdirectory has not yet been removed, we get a WARN_ON in the
sysfs code, with stack trace, and an error message printed on the
console. Further, we ultimately end up with an online cpu with no
"cache" subdirectory.
This fixes it by doing an explicit kobject_del() at the point where
we want the subdirectory to go away. kobject_del() removes the sysfs
directory even though the object still exists in memory. The object
will get freed at some point in the future. A subsequent onlining
operation can create a new sysfs directory, even if the old object
still exists in memory, without causing any problems.

powerpc/pseries/cpuidle: smt-snooze-delay cleanup.
smt-snooze-delay was designed to disable NAP state or delay the entry
to the NAP state prior to adoption of cpuidle framework. This
is per-cpu variable. With the coming of CPUIDLE framework,
states can be disabled on per-cpu basis using the cpuidle/enable
sysfs entry.
Also, with the coming of cpuidle driver each state's target residency
is per-driver unlike earlier which was per-device. Therefore,
the per-cpu sysfs smt-snooze-delay which decides the target residency
of the idle state on a particular cpu causes more confusion to the user
as we cannot have different smt-snooze-delay (target residency)
values for each cpu.
In the current code, smt-snooze-delay functionality is completely broken.
It makes sense to remove smt-snooze-delay from idle driver with the
coming of cpuidle framework.
However, sysfs files are retained as ppc64_util currently
utilises it. Once we fix ppc64_util, propose to clean
up the kernel code.

powerpc: Fix 32-bit frames for signals delivered when transactional
Commit
d31626f70b61 ("powerpc: Don't corrupt transactional state when
using FP/VMX in kernel") introduced a bug where the uc_link and uc_regs
fields of the ucontext_t that is created to hold the transactional
values of the registers in a 32-bit signal frame didn't get set
correctly. The reason is that we now clear the MSR_TS bits in the MSR
in save_tm_user_regs(), before the code that sets uc_link and uc_regs.
To fix this, we move the setting of uc_link and uc_regs into the same
if statement that selects whether to call save_tm_user_regs() or

ceph: Fix up after semantic merge conflict
The previous ceph-client merge resulted in ceph not even building,
because there was a merge conflict that wasn't visible as an actual data
conflict: commit
7221fe4c2ed7 ("ceph: add acl for cephfs") added support
for POSIX ACL's into Ceph, but unluckily we also had the VFS tree change
a lot of the POSIX ACL helper functions to be much more helpful to
filesystems (see for example commits
2aeccbe957d0 "fs: add generic
xattr_acl handlers",
5bf3258fd2ac "fs: make posix_acl_chmod more useful"
and
37bc15392a23 "fs: make posix_acl_create more useful")
The reason this conflict wasn't obvious was many-fold: because it was a
semantic conflict rather than a data conflict, it wasn't visible in the
git merge as a conflict. And because the VFS tree hadn't been in
linux-next, people hadn't become aware of it that way. And because I
was at jury duty this morning, I was using my laptop and as a result not
doing constant "allmodconfig" builds.
Anyway, this fixes the build and generally removes a fair chunk of the
Ceph POSIX ACL support code, since the improved helpers seem to match
really well for Ceph too. But I don't actually have any way to *test*
the end result, and I was really hoping for some ACK's for this. Oh,
well.
Not compiling certainly doesn't make things easier to test, so I'm
committing this without the acks after having waited for four hours...
Plus it's what I would have done for the merge had I noticed the
semantic conflict..

watchdog: at91sam9_wdt: better watchdog support
The at91sam9 watchdog timer can only be configured once, and the current
implementation tries to configure it in a static way:
- 2 seconds timeout
- wdt restart every 500ms
If the timer has already been configured with different values, it returns an
error and do not create any watchdog device.
This is not critical if the watchdog is disabled, but if it has been enabled with
different timeout values it will lead to a SoC reset.
This patch series tries to address this issue by adapting the heartbeat value
according the WDT timer config:
- it first tries to configure the timer as requested.
- if it fails it fallbacks to the current config, adapting its heartbeat timer
to the needs
This patch series also move to a dynamically allocated at91wdt device instead
of the static instance.
It adds a new at91 wdt type: software. This new type make use of the at91 wdt
interrupt to trigger a software reboot.
Finally it adds several properties to the device tree bindings.

watchdog: s3c2410_wdt: Handle rounding a little better for timeout
The existing watchdog timeout worked OK but didn't deal with
rounding in an ideal way when dividing out all of its clocks.
Specifically if you had a timeout of 32 seconds and an input clock of
66666666, you'd end up setting a timeout of 31.9998 seconds and
reporting a timeout of 31 seconds.
Specifically DBG printouts showed:
s3c2410wdt_set_heartbeat: count=
16666656, timeout=32, freq=520833
s3c2410wdt_set_heartbeat: timeout=32, divisor=255, count=
16666656 (
0000ff4f)
and the final timeout reported to the user was:
((count / divisor) * divisor) / freq
(0xff4f * 255) / 520833 = 31 (truncated from 31.9998)
the technically "correct" value is:
(0xff4f * 255) / (
66666666.0 / 128) = 31.9998
By using "DIV_ROUND_UP" we can be a little more correct.
s3c2410wdt_set_heartbeat: count=
16666688, timeout=32, freq=520834
s3c2410wdt_set_heartbeat: timeout=32, divisor=255, count=
16666688 (
0000ff50)
and the final timeout reported to the user:
(0xff50 * 255) / 520834 = 32
the technically "correct" value is:
(0xff50 * 255) / (
66666666.0 / 128) = 32.0003
We'll use a DIV_ROUND_UP to solve this, generally erroring on the side
of reporting shorter values to the user and setting the watchdog to
slightly longer than requested:
* Round input frequency up to assume watchdog is counting faster.
* Round divisions by divisor up to give us extra time.
At the same time we can avoid a for loop by just doing the right math.

watchdog: s3c2410_wdt: Only register for cpufreq on ARM_S3C24XX_CPUFREQ
On modern SoCs the watchdog timer is parented on a clock that doesn't
change every time we have a cpufreq change. That means we don't need
to constantly adjust the watchdog timer, so avoid registering for and
dealing with cpufreq transitions unless we've actually got
CONFIG_ARM_S3C24XX_CPUFREQ defined.
Note that this is more than just an optimization. The s3c2410
watchdog driver actually pats the watchdog on every CPU frequency
change. On modern systems these happen many times per second (even in
a system where "nothing" is happening). That effectively makes any
userspace watchdog program useless (the watchdog is constantly patted
by the kernel). If we need ARM_S3C24XX_CPUFREQ defined on a
multiplatform kernel we'll need to make sure that kernel supports
common clock and change this to user common clock framework.
