   7 The \fImodules.dep.bin\fR as generated by
   8 module-init-tools \fBdepmod\fR, lists the
   9 dependencies for every module in the directories under
  10 \fI/lib/modules/\fR\fIversion\fR,
  11 where \fImodules.dep.bin\fR (or the human readable
  12 version \fImodules.dep\fR) is also located. It is
  13 used by utilities such as \fBmodprobe\fR\&. The
  14 binary version will be used by default, if it was generated by
  15 a compatible version of \fBdepmod, with fallback
  16 to the generic \fImodules.dep\fB\&.
